Districts are required to provide records before any IEP meeting; however, the law does not give a specified timeline on when drafts must be received. When you sign the notice of meeting (NOM), it is best to let the team know either on the NOM or in your response email that you are requesting a draft document prior to the IEP meeting. Ask that the draft document be emailed no later than two business days prior to the IEP meeting.
