Transportation is a related service that should be discussed at least once annually during the IEP meeting. IEP teams should consider the following factors when deciding if special education transportation is required: placement of the student in a setting other than their homeschool, medical/health needs, behaviors (including behavior intervention plans), adaptive daily living skills, and the student’s disability.
